Bill and I will celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary in June. We have four dogs and thankfully neither of us regret not having kids. I am the founder of and Executive Director for Best Friends of Pets. It is such a joy to be able to help people afford to have their pets spayed or neutered and to adopt pets into loving homes. Bill is the CFO of Dolese, so no more tax seasons for us and we can attend Big 12 and NCAA wrestling tournaments each March no matter where they are.

Many of you may wonder why my last name is no longer Cooprider.  Clay decided he wanted no part of our family and left me and my two children.  Even though this trail was the worst possible, the Lord saw me through everything, and brought a special man into my life, Jaff Slotnick.  We got married in December 2002.  He has one son who lives with us.  He is a true blessing to both me and my kids.  Because of my trials, I have gotten back into teaching.  I teach computer to K-3rd grade and 8th grade keyboarding at Oklahoma Christian School in Edmond.  Both Mark and Laura also attend school there, and Alex, my stepson, will start their in the fall.  It is wonderful to work at a place full of believers who care and pray for each other every day.

I currently am living in Dallas working with private equity investment firms to improve the operating and financial performance of companies these firms have acquired or invested in. A stint as VP/General Counsel of Brunswick's Sea Ray Boats in Knoxville, TN. Back to school to get my MBA from Harvard Business School in Cambridge, MA. Then Boston, NY, London and Paris with Monitor Group, a management consulting/hedge fund/private equity firm. More recently, family illnesses brought me back to Oklahoma City and Dallas. Right now, I'm living in the Highland Park area of Dallas. In my spare time, have been keeping up with the piano, studying and performing with TCU/Van Cliburn amateur programs in Fort Worth. Also have been active with non-profit organizations focusing on micro venture funding of low- to moderate-income minority enterprises.

One of my warmest memories of PC '75-'78 was that brilliant "Impeach Speegle!" revolt masterminded by Jeff Blazy our Sophomore year--a clear Hefner vs. Central insurgency. Blazy was, of course, victorious, with Hefner standouts Doug White and Jeff Caughron--outstanding individuals, both--surging to victory as Class Presidents our Junior and Senior years. I fear that Blazy may have missed his calling as political kingmaker.

On June 30th, my husband Rick and I will celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary. We are blessed

with two wonderful children - a 15 year old daughter who is a sophomore and a 20 year old son

attending college. Along with being a mom and wife - I work full time running a technical help line

resolving PC/network problems, I am also a realtor, and still enjoy creating custom floral designs. In

the past six years, I lost both my parents and a sister, and my husband became critically ill

spending 9 ½ months in Mercy ICU. We have witnessed God s healing and experienced His

miracles. Rick is now on a double organ transplant waiting list. It is a long road and we have

endured so much, I am amazed at how strong we all are especially our children.

 

Football games and pep club; hanging out with about 5 different groups of friends all as different as night and day; Senior year and Graduation!!!

Les and I were both single again when we saw each other at the 20th Reunion. We knew who each

other was in high school, but never really got to know one another. After running into each other

several times after that, we started talking and spending time together. We began dating soon after

and 4 years later we got married. In the 6 years since we have been married, all 5 of our kids have

graduated from PCN and are in different stages of college and/or working. Most of our time is spent

Busy bringing up three children. My oldest is 19, Jason. Middle son, Aaron is 17 and my youngest is Rachel, 8 years old.  Our boys keep up very busy in their sports activities.  My middle son Aaron just finished basketball and won the State title for making a 146 three pointers in one season in the state of Illinois.  A very exciting time.  I am enjoying life very much and feel very blessed to have a wonderful family that I love very much.

 

High school was a hard time for me but, I do remember the Frog party when Sherri (Jones) and I wore tuxes to the dance.  I am not sure why we did such a silly thing.  (Smile)

I live in my van (which I said I'd never own) and shuttle kids around to activities.  I am a parent of a teenager so I have ceased to have knowledge or experience on any subject. I have lived in this Kansas City suburb for 18 years with my husband Craig and children Chad-13, Curt-11 and Callie-6, but still regard Oklahoma City as "home".  It was so interesting to read the bios on all of my classmates---sad to see the missing and deceased.  For it to have been such a huge class, I can recall faces or stories on so many and it's fun remembering people (and the stories!) I haven't thought about in years.

 

There are many funny/fond memories....cruising 39th Street with Shelley Weeks in her Mustang, planning lunch every day with Pauly Robertson, David Braaten and Jackie Durall, making the homecoming float with that Barbra Streisand mannequin in my garage our senior year and then that awesome game! Mr. Loney for Chemistry, carpooling with Theresa Thomas and Leslie Gilliland and ALWAYS having to park in the "3rd Lot", Blazy singing "Night Moves" and finally, with Leslie Gilliland, being the only girls at PC to letter in baseball!

 

Can we have the cafeteria's Cinnamon Rolls at the reunion?  It's only fitting as they made me what I am today!
